Steve Parks F.I.F.F. - Business Development Director

Steve has been involved in the logistics industry since 1967. He has worked in many areas of shipping, including the movement of heavy plant and equipment for the North Sea oil platforms. He formed Seaport Freight in 1982 with his co-director John Williams and has steadily built the business up into the £8 million per annum operation it is today.

He has developed a network of agents around the world, to enable Seaport to offer a first class worldwide service to its clients.

When not developing the business, Steve can regularly be found on stage indulging his love of pantomime and farce. He mixes his love of travel and the Blues with regular trips to venues far and wide. At home he likes to relax by caring for his collection of Koi carp.

John Williams F.I.F.F. - Operations Director

John also has an impressive career in shipping, which began in 1971. Since then he has worked in many areas including transportation, warehousing and customs clearance. He joined Steve in 1976 working for a logistics company involved in freight movements for the North Sea oilrigs.

He is involved in operational matters and Seaport's stock management service.

Out of the office, John is a sports fan. He keeps fit by swimming and playing squash and is an avid Ipswich Town supporter. He also owns a share in a racehorse, so he regularly travels to watch 'Hilltop Rhapsody' at racetracks around the country.

Richard Lord F.I.F.F. - Operations Manager

Richard began his career in the industry in 1962 and has worked in all areas of shipping, forwarding and transport. He has gained a wealth of knowledge over the years, which is put to good use in the day to day running of the operations department. He is also our food specialist.

When not working, Richard likes to keep fit - he goes road running several times a week and has completed three London marathons. He also plays soccer for Seaport's five-a-side team and line dances once a week. At home he enjoys cooking and listening to rock music.

Debra Parks F.C.C.A. - Financial Controller

Debra began her career in accountancy in 1984, later qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant. She brought with her a wealth of experience in business and financial matters when she joined Seaport in 1992 and has since developed a thorough understanding of the shipping, forwarding and transport business. She is also our in-house IT expert and web developer, and writes our promotional material.

Away from the office, Debra writes articles, short stories and online book reviews and has her first novel 'in gestation.' She travels as often as possible and loves theatre, cinema and books. At home she is currently renovating the townhouse she shares with her husband.
